FAQ
The Answers You Need
WHEN AND WHERE DOÂ YOU MEET?
Merry is happy to meet virtually with students or in-person at a public place or a student's home. Merry has availability most weekdays and on Sundays. Reach out for specific, up to date availability!
WHAT COLLEGE PREP SERVICES ARE PROVIDED?
The college process can be daunting for many families and students. The pressure put on adolescents today can be overwhelming for even the most organized and motivated of students, which is why working with Richter College Prep and Tutoring is worth it.

Starting with who your student is and what they want out of their next steps is where the process starts. It then can include any combination of things: finding colleges that fit with your student's interests, preparing for in-person or virtual college interviews, creating a standout Common App essay, and crafting thoughtful, cohesive supplements. Proofreading essays and helping create activity lists for applications is also a part of the college process.

You name it, we can do it. And, the most important thing is that the line of communication between us and families is always open.
HOW DO I KNOW IF THE SAT IS RIGHT FOR ME?
This depends on a number of factors, so families should reach out directly to discuss their students.
WHAT IS THE DIGITAL SAT?
The SAT is switching to a fully digital format in spring 2024. The test is shorter than it was and includes four modules: two reading and writing modules and two math modules. You can learn more by visiting the College Board here.
HOW MANY TIMES SHOULD I TAKE THE SAT?
Many students do not see a solid increase after taking the exam three times, so the recommendation is to take it two or three times. Though, this is dependent on the student and the amount they have prepared for the exams, so feel free to contact to discuss this further.
WHEN SHOULD I START PREPARING FOR THE SAT?
The SAT is designed to be taken at the end of junior year; however, some students opt to take it earlier. Preparation, therefore, depends on when you plan to take the exam. Regardless, the more time students have to prepare, the better students tend to perform on the SAT. If you are not sure when to take the exam or when to start preparing, then send us a message!
WHERE CAN I FIND MORE INFORMATION ABOUT SATÂ TEST DATES AND REGISTER?
Go directly to the College Board's website.
WHAT DO YOU GUARANTEE?
Richter College Prep and Tutoring does not believe that the promises big corporations make to families regarding score increases are genuine. Many of these promises are fulfilled with unofficial diagnostic exams and practice tests that have difficult scoring curves.

What Richter Prep does promise is that families and students are treated with honesty, confidentiality, and thoughtfulness.
WHAT ARE THE RATES FOR ACADEMIC TUTORING, SAT TUTORING, AND COLLEGE PREP?
Richter College Prep and Tutoring understands that families want the best for their students and yet have different incomes and familial situations. Therefore, Richter College Prep and Tutoring uses discretion when determining a rate for the different services.
